About the job

ZeroAvia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineering focussed Intern. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects and gain valuable industry experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Quality Standards Support: Assist in understanding and applying quality standards such as AS9100, AS9145, AS13100, or IATF16949. Help guide associates in following ZeroAvia’s Quality Management System.
  • Policy Compliance: Support compliance with policies and procedures related to facility or divisional standards.
  • Process Control Plans: Assist in establishing and implementing process control plans, including capability studies and gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.
  • Documentation: Provide quality-related documents to the manufacturing floor, including control plans, control cards, visual aids, and work instructions.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor production floor processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements, including fit, function, reliability, durability, and appearance criteria.
  • APQP and FMEA: Gain experience with AS9145 elements such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • SPC Activities: Assist in the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, including setting objectives, goals, and timetables, and implementing new techniques.
  • Capability Studies: Perform capability studies on new jobs and other necessary situations.
  • Audits: Participate in and perform Layered Process Audits and Special Process Audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize concepts of continuous improvement, including Lean methodologies.
  • Inspections: May be required to perform inspections and other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in quality assurance principles and industry standards.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma or Operational Excellence (Op-Ex) is a plus.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on multiple sources of information.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office applications, especially MS Excel. Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Siemens, TipQA) is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a team.
