Reports : Senior Manager - Operations
The UAV Engineer will be primarily engaged in field operations, where they will pilot drones equipped with various payloads and Zeitview’s proprietary software to collect
critical imagery and data from infrastructure sites. This role involves conducting drone missions in real-world environments, ensuring all operations comply with internal and
industry safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The engineer will be responsible for planning and executing missions in collaboration with Operations
Coordinators, managing equipment needs, and contributing to the integration and testing of new technologies. Comfort with working independently in diverse field settings is
essential, as is the ability to handle logistical tasks related to drone deployment. Additionally, the role may include occasional training and involvement in special projects.
Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, and oversee drone missions for capturing data related to renewable energy and infrastructure assets using Enterprise grade drones and Zeitview’s proprietary data collection software.
• Manage the flow of data from capture through upload into the designated platforms.
• Operate and maintain enterprise drones, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure drone reliability and performance.
• Keep track of drone equipment inventory and report any damage or loss promptly.
• Coordinate with site teams to align drone operations with project requirements.
• Communicate and assist the operations team in projecting timelines for site completion.
• Manage and Track for issues to ensure all parties involved know next steps and responsible parties for data resolutions.
• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
• Identify and troubleshoot any issues or problems with the data, and work with the technical team to resolve any issues that may affect the accuracy and completeness of the data.
• Monitor weather conditions, airspace restrictions or any potential hazards that may affect the flight operation.
• Report and document any incidents or accidents involving the drone or flight operations as per internal protocol to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Follow both internal and industry best safety protocols to minimize risks during drone operations.
• Conduct risk assessments before each flight to ensure safe operation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar fields
• 2-3 Years experience in Drone piloting and operations
• DGCA certified
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Google Suite workspace
• Must have experience in operating enterprise grade drones (M300/M350)
• Proficiency in drone operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel continuously as per operational requirements
• Prior experience in renewable and/or infrastructure inspections is an added advantage
