What success will look like for you, as a Advanced Design Engineer ?

As an Advanced Design Engineer you will be design responsible for multiple parts and assemblies that make up Vertical's cutting-edge propeller systems. This will be the configuration for Vertical’s VX-4 certified aircraft. The 3rd generation propellers are currently in the concept phase so the Advanced Design Engineer will be a key part of an exceptional team at the genesis of a new product. The Advanced Design Engineer will take full ownership of the part and installation 3D models and 2D drawings in the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) using the Dassault 3DX software platform, developing and refining the new concepts including material selection and liaising with supply chain to bring new concepts to market.

What we would like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role. In order to achieve this, you will have design experience in complex mechanical systems from concept to production. We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in solid modelling and surfacing using CATIA V5/V6 or 3DX (though other software tools will be considered), with excellent PLM system experience, and with expertise in General Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge of metallics is essential (and ideally composites) . Experience with Composite Part Design (CPD) and 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FT&A) in CATIA or 3DX is desirable. Experience in variable pitch propeller hub design, helicopter rotor design or wind turbine blade root/hub design is also desirable.
