Job Description
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician will report to the NPI Supervisor and will be responsible for performing NPI Builds, line trials and maintaining the NPI area. This person is expected to be able to execute against provided manufacturing instructions (if available), validate their own work, check the quality of previous operations, mentor production associates, lead builds in defined area, and meet schedules. The NPI Technician is expected to be able to provide feedback, define standard work, and suggest process improvements. Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary. Communicates test results, ideas and problems to supervisor and engineers. Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing and verbally to supervisor. Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times and maintains a clean and orderly work area. Escalate build issues through the proper channels and group until resolution. Coach and effectively lead production teams through launches. Support NPI Trial build activities. Maintain NPI Pilot Lines to keep current with changes in product design and manufacturing process.
