The Senior Accountant Position

Sunnova Energy is searching for Senior Accountant to be responsible for various areas within Fixed Assets, Debt, and potentially other accounting areas. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working with Senior Accountants, this individual will also be responsible for accounting functions such as monthly close tasks, account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and roll forwards.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

· Performs all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and company policy for fixed assets, debt, and all related entries.

· Prepares supporting schedules for financial statements

· Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations

· Communicates with other departments as well as outside vendors to maintain debt and fixed assets records.

· Prepares, reviews, and clearly communicates various analyses and other information to members of management and external auditors

· Reviews and applies cash receipts to ensure balances are updated timely and accurately.

· Corrects errors or help resolve problems regarding fixed asset system transactions, debt related entries, and amortization/depreciation.

· Record selected cash application journal entries or other end of month entries as needed.

· Other Accounting/AD Hoc duties as necessary

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree with an accounting or business administration concentration

· 2-4 years of accounting experience

· Highly organized and able to prioritize.

Preferred Qualifications

· Public accounting experience is a plus

· Experience in renewable energy space is a plus

· Experience with Salesforce and FinancialForce is a plus

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

· Experience with budgets and budget-to-actual analysis

· Strong proficiency in Excel and Word.

· Ability to analyze and interpret large quantities of data.

· Extreme attention to detail is necessary.

· Ability to manage multiple projects while working under pressure and time constraints.

· Experience working with multiple legal entities and intercompany transactions

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Self-motivator

· Experience with a small to medium-sized company that grew rapidly is preferred

· CPA is preferred
