Job Description
We are seeking a results-oriented and adaptable Energy Solutions Engineer to join our remote startup team. Our company thrives in a dynamic environment where innovation and agility are key to our success. If you're a self-motivated, versatile energy professional, we encourage you to apply!
Who we are
Station A is a technology company reimagining how clean energy is bought and sold. We're primarily a remote team with members spread across major cities. By combining proprietary technology and a team of experts, we help clean energy buyers and sellers navigate the marketplace journey efficiently and transparently.
At Station A, we make climate action a no-brainer for everyone. Come join us and help scale our impact!
Responsibilities
In this remote startup setting, you'll be a crucial part of our Commercial team, responsible for advancing clean energy projects through to our marketplace. Your role includes:
- Technical Expertise: Share insights and best practices based on your previous clean energy project experience, serving as a subject matter expert on technologies such as distributed solar, storage, EV charging, community solar, and energy efficiency.
- Client Engagement: Partner with our Business Development team to educate, advise, and guide clean energy buyers through the decision-making process, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources needed to make informed choices.
- Project Prioritization: Leverage data from the Station A Marketplace to assess relative viability of projects across a client's portfolio.
- Data Analysis: Evaluate data collected for each project, including energy data for qualified site locations, to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Process Improvement: Help shape the growth of the BD and marketplace team by implementing repeatable processes and applying creative techniques to streamline the qualification process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with software engineering, product teams, and business development to gather user feedback, influence product development, and support commercial opportunities.
We believe in the importance of pay transparency. The annual base salary for the Energy Solutions Engineer position is $85-130k, with potential performance-based bonus and stock options. The expected start date for this position is Q1 2025.
Requirements
- Experience executing distributed clean energy projects (Behind the Meter (BTM) Solar+Storage, BTM Solar, BTM energy storage standalone, Front of the Meter (FTM) Solar Leases) with Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers, with an emphasis on rooftop, ground mount, and carport solar projects with engineering, procurement and construction firms (EPCs), at least 3+ years of experience
- Deep understanding of the technical and business requirements for moving clean energy projects forward, from concept to origination/implementation
- Highly detail-oriented individual with the ability to convert unstructured data and information into organized and comprehensible data presentation
- Clear understanding of industry current trends, solutions, and drivers for distributed clean energy projects to unlock bottle necks in the legacy approach to solving the StA customer business needs.
- Enthusiastic about process and process improvement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and in a customer-facing role in collaboration with our business development team
- Applies a problem-solving approach to answering our buyer’s questions, empathizes with provider needs and buyer decision concerns, and draws patterns between questions to continuously improve the Marketplace experience
- Curious self-learner with a passion for renewable energy
Benefits
We are committed to providing benefits to support a healthy life outside of work:
- Remote-friendly work environment (US Based)
- Access to co-working facilities in 65+ cities
- Flexible PTO
- Remote work stipend
- Medical/dental/vision insurance including FSA and HSA
