Job Description

Runwise is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to expand our footprint in the Tri State Area. This person will be responsible for understanding key Runwise success stories, planning an outside sales strategy around them, and targeting buildings that fit a similar profile. This candidate will be entrepreneurial, outgoing, and able to successfully in person sell by winning over gate keepers.

Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, water, etc…) in 8,000+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year.

As the Outside Sales Representative at Runwise you will have the ability to manage your own time, build a sales strategy, meet and exceed monthly goals, and work directly with Account Executives, our CEO, Chief Growth Officer and the Head of Sales on the most pressing initiatives within our rapidly scaling business.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Door to door selling to buildings that fit the right profile of a Runwise building
  • Leveraging the Runwise app to find our best performing buildings in different parts of the five boroughs
  • Building daily prospecting plans that deliver on average one meeting set per day
  • Collaborating with Runwise Account Executives on their existing account plans and helping them establish new relationships
  • Getting through gatekeepers to find the right contacts at various classes of buildings across NYC

Who you are:

  • You have worked 2-5 years of sales experience- preferable with outside selling experience
  • You are passionate about the built environment and excited to explore different parts of New York City
  • You don’t take no for an answer and are not shy about demonstrating “professional persistence”
  • You have excellent organizational skills and can block your time between research and pounding the pavement
  • You have a knack for distilling potentially complicated concepts into simple, value based, terms in a way that makes people want to do business with you

Salary range: On Target Earnings of $90,000 - $140,000 (Uncapped Commission) based on experience level
