Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Maintenance team, with the first six months based in Skellefteå, Sweden. After this, you will move to our brand-new factory in Heide, Germany, where you will be one of the first engineers in our growing team. By joining us, you will be a key player in optimizing maintenance strategies and contributing to the development of one of Europe’s largest battery factories.

About the job

As a Maintenance Engineer, your main responsibility will be developing and optimizing the maintenance programs for our equipment, ensuring reliability, safety, and cost efficiency. You will work closely with operators, technicians, and other production personnel to identify improvement areas and implement solutions. A typical day will include analyzing equipment performance, leading maintenance initiatives, and ensuring that the necessary spare parts are available. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of our operations in a rapidly growing and innovative environment.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced setting and who is eager to contribute to continuous improvements. This role offers excellent growth opportunities within the maintenance and engineering fields.

About the team

You will be joining a dynamic and expanding Maintenance team. After the first six months in Skellefteå, you will transition to Heide as one of the founding members of the team there. Together with your colleagues, you will play a crucial role in building a safe and efficient work environment as we scale up our operations in Germany.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and production staff to identify and implement equipment improvements.
  • Lead the development and optimization of maintenance programs for the factory.
  • Provide training on maintenance-specific tasks to ensure team competency.
  • Track equipment performance and reliability, analyzing costs and recommending reinvestments as needed.
  • Set up long-term maintenance plans and ensure the availability of essential spare parts.

Success factors for this role:

We are looking for someone who is highly organized, communicative, and results-driven. You should be service-minded and determined to create a great working environment. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in mechanical, automation, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and experience in driving continuous improvement in an industrial setting. Personal qualities we value include grit, a proactive mindset, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
