At Modo Energy, we're on a mission to build the information architecture for the energy transition - we want to be the only place to come to for information on the global journey to net zero. Take a look at our platform, where we provide open access to an array of content on the energy transition.
We're a dedicated and passionate team building a category-defining business, working on one of the world's most important priorities. We are looking for individuals who love product-building, want to work with pace at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a rapidly growing team.
The Role:
The Video Producer at Modo Energy is responsible for helping to ensure that Modo Energy’s video content is the highest quality and most widely viewed in the energy industry.
The Video Producer sits within our global Research (i.e. content) team, and reports to the Director of Research. The Video Producer needs to ensure that Modo Energy’s video content:
- is insightful, engaging, and accessible for a wide range of audiences within the energy industry - from undergraduate students and new starters, all the way up to C-suite executives,
- matches (or exceeds) the quality of the best professional/informational/data-led video content out there (think Vox, the New York Times, Bloomberg, etc.),
- reaches the widest possible audience, through excellent marketing and SEO practices.
Ultimately, the Video Producer is responsible for producing world-leading content about power markets (and the markets for battery energy storage in particular).
Responsibilities:
- Planning, storyboarding, location scouting, set designing, filming, editing and publishing our video content - across a wide variety of video formats.
- Identifying and analyzing the highest quality videos from other industries and sectors to understand what makes them resonate - and to work out how we can recreate this in our videos.
- Working collaboratively with our Research and Product teams to bring their analysis and ideas to life on-screen.
- Empowering others in the team so that they are able to produce incredible work on projects that meet the business needs of Modo Energy. Providing hands-on support and guidance to your teammates - to ensure that their work is also of the highest quality, and that they face the least possible barriers in going about their daily work.
- Getting to know our industry, building your network, and staying up to date with the latest developments in video content marketing.
- Helping to shape Modo Energy’s Research strategy in the United States - by deciding how we best use the medium of video to successfully deliver Research content to our audience.
Qualifications:
- Strong video production and editing skills with fierce attention to technical detail - including color correction/grading, experience with motion graphics, and an understanding of pacing, sound mixing and audio post processing.
- Exceptional storytelling skills, and can approach each project with a fresh take, ensuring that each video excels at conveying the right story and vibe. Finds new ideas to bring to Modo.
- Great technical and non-technical communication skills - able to convey ideas about videos to non-specialists and understand + translate the ideas of non-specialists into incredible videos.
- An entrepreneurial mindset - is determined to bring new ideas, take risks, be creative, ask questions, break stuff, and think big.
Important Details:
- We work in a Hybrid Environment: You split your time between working from home and working in our Austin office (Tuesday - Thursday).
- 25 days annual leave and your birthday off; medical, dental and vision benefits; 401k with optional matching contribution.
