We are currently seeking an innovative Advanced Product Quality (APQ) Engineer to contribute, promote and drive best-in-class product quality at the various stages of the product development process. This is a high-performance role that would have significant visibility to both within and outside the organization, and will require technical expertise, passion, interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence outcomes, work through complexity and fast- paced environment, and establishing credibility with peers and senior management.

To ensure success, you should have deep professional technical experience implementing quality and reliability best practices, innovations and ensure validation. You will combine your expertise to advance product excellence and innovation. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for product validation within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination and will have a strong track record of quality program management, preferably in an automotive or parallel industry environment.

You Will:

  • Design programs for product quality and reliability requirements for upstream validation
  • Plan and drive product quality requirement at various product development stages
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain to achieve highest product Quality excellence
  • Evaluate performance metrics to diagnose and prioritize issues
  • Contribute ideas and best practices to successful quality gates
  • Advanced knowledge of the full life cycle of product quality gates during product development
  • Facilitate quality resolutions and innovations and continual improvements
  • Document processes and compliance with ISO9001, AIAG/ IATF16949, ISO26262 industry standards
  • Expertise in GD&T is preferred
  • Technical master's degree - Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Exceptional timely communication and interpersonal skills
  • Practical Problem Solving, DFMEA, DFM, APQP, Lean Six Sigma and ASQ CQA Certifications
  • Develop processes and procedures within Corporate QMS
  • Looking for a Self-motivator with timely effective communication skills & interpersonal skills, team player who can influence cross functional teams with technical expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced product quality (APQP) experience is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of the full life cycle of product quality gates during product development (PDP)
  • Prior experience in supplier quality or corporate quality is preferred

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineer) preferred
  • A Minimum of 5+ years' experience in BIW/Closures and Exteriors components or equivalent is preferred
  • A Minimum of 5+ years of leading/facilitating DFMEA/PFMEA/CP experience is strongly preferred
  • A Minimum 5+ years' experience in identifying design risks and problem solving them with cross functional teams during prototype build phases is strongly preferred
  • A Minimum of 5+ years' experience in MSA/SPC/Safe Launch is strongly preferred
  • A Minimum of 5+ years of experience in DVP&R’s for BIW/Closures components is strongly preferred
  • A Minimum of 5- years' experience in analyzing BIW/Closures & Exteriors related GD&T/dimensional issues with developing resolutions and mitigations plans to protect product quality
  • A Minimum of 5+ years of experience facilitating/leading program DFM/DFA is preferred.
  • A Minimum of 5+ years for experience in managing program timing & planning to identify quality risks proactively with mitigation plans to protect overall product quality
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include evenings and weekends, as needed)

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$133,400—$183,480 USD
