Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Hardware Reliability Test Technician on the Reliability team to conduct internal testing that will be critical to making our products more robust and reliable. As part of the Reliability team, you will work with engineers to develop novel techniques, assist with test stand set up, independently operate test equipment as a super user, and perform a range of visual inspections. You will also work in the lab and collaborate with a cross functional team to ensure high quality testing and results.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant and daily impact on cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major improvements to grid reliability and sustainability.

What you'll do:

  • Operation of a wide range of equipment for tests of batteries, electrical components, and liquid and gas process systems
  • Assist the Test team with new test set up, become test equipment super-user, independently operate test equipment, and recommend improvements to new test methods
  • Perform device and component pre- and post-test analysis with high level of attention to detail, including visual inspections, leak tests, weld inspections, and electrical continuity checks
  • Reporting of test and inspection finding to engineering teams
  • Maintain lab equipment, organize and maintain cleanliness of test spaces, and be a champion of safety

What you'll bring:

  • 4+ years experience as an engineering technician or in a hands on role
  • Experience using and maintaining tools and lab instruments, including electrical test equipment, pumps, fans, and sensors
  • Experience with pre- and post-test analysis and inspections, and preparing reports of inspection results
  • Experience fabricating and assembling fixtures and one-offs for engineering
  • Experience working with batteries or battery electrodes is highly desirable, but not required
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort using Gsuite tools (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.)
  • A positive get-it-done attitude!
