Job Description

Experience Level: 9-12 years


Key Responsibilities:


Mechanical Design Integration: Lead the mechanical design integration of submodules within battery energy storage systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

HALT Testing: Plan, conduct, and analyze Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) for components and systems to identify potential failure modes and improve durability.

Component Development and Characterization: Develop and characterize all module components, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance requirements.

Sensor Durability: Assess and ensure the durability and reliability of sensors used within the system, conducting thorough testing and validation.

Testing and Validation: Perform rigorous testing and validation of mechanical components and systems to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Software Proficiency: Utilize relevant software tools for mechanical design, simulation, and analysis, such as CAD, FEA, and other engineering software.

Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of design processes, testing protocols, and results to support product development and certification.

Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve mechanical design and integration issues to maintain optimal system performance and reliability.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to ensure cohesive system integration.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for design improvements, cost reductions, and performance enhancements.

Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of mechanical components, managing technical specifications and requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications:


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Extensive experience in mechanical design integration and testing within the battery energy storage or related industries.

Proficiency in conducting HALT and other reliability testing methodologies.

Strong understanding of component development and characterization processes.

Experience with sensor durability testing and validation.

Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA), FEA tools, and other relevant engineering software.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for mechanical components in energy storage systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Proven track record of successful project management and delivery within the specified experience level.
