Job Description

Business Development Manager (Hybrid) ESG Flo was created to address the challenges that companies face when gathering and reporting ESG data. The idea for the platform was born out of frustration with the time-consuming process of collecting and visualizing ESG data. After winning Bain & Company's global Hackathon, ESG Flo received funding and support from Bain's Founder's Studio. ESG Flo’s platform automates the data extraction process and provides traceability, visualization, and audit-readiness for environmental data. ESG Flo enables companies to achieve their sustainability goals and make informed decisions by providing insights into cost, risk, and compliance. The platform simplifies the data aggregation process, freeing up sustainability teams to focus on driving impact. Responsibilities: As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for spearheading growth initiatives and nurturing strong customer relationships for ESG Flo in Europe. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Sourcing and Prioritizing Leads: Source and nurture leads to form high-potential relationships.
  2. Co-Developing with Customers: Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their needs, identify key pain points with status quo, present our offerings, test/improve our platform, and establish meaningful connections.
  3. Determining Overall Account Strategy: Devise and execute strategies to maximize customer acquisition, retention, and overall satisfaction.
  4. Supporting Growth Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Head of Growth and Strategy to shape and implement long-term growth plans. What You Will Do:
    • Source and meet with leads to form business development partnerships
    • Foster trusting customer relationships to collect genuine feedback and ideas to continue evolving our platform
    • Provide exceptional customer service by understanding their unique requirements
    • Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the company's visibility and generate leads.
    • Manage a marketing and strategy associate to help develop promotional activities, marketing campaigns and conduct analyze market trends, latest regulations, and competitor activities. Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a passionate and proactive individual who embodies our values of sustainability and innovation. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:
    • Passionate about Sustainability: You have a genuine commitment to environmental and social responsibility, and you strive to integrate sustainable practices into business growth.
    • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset, bringing creativity and fresh ideas to drive growth and continuously improve our processes.
    • Self-Driven and Motivated: You take initiative and work independently to achieve goals, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and determination.
    • Excellent Communication Skills: You possess exceptional fluency in English, enabling effective communication with our diverse clientele. Knowledge of Italian or German would be a valuable asset.
    • Ideally based in Milan but open to hybrid from other locations Experience: To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
  5. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in consulting, sales, or business development, demonstrating a successful track record in achieving performance targets.
  6. Familiarity with lead generation and CRM tools (e.g., Apollo, HubSpot) to optimize sales processes and customer relationship management.
  7. Familiarity planning and running marketing campaigns
  8. Prior management experience is a plus, showcasing your ability to lead and inspire a team of professionals.
