Job Description

Circ's flexible technology is powering the clean closet and helping the fashion industry make monumental strides toward a truly circular eco-economy.

We’ve pioneered a technology that can recycle polycotton — what the majority of our clothes are made of — into reusable fibers. In essence: our process takes textile waste and turns it into materials that your most beloved fashion labels can use for tomorrow’s clothes.

Circ is a registered B Corp Company, named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies and a finalist in the Earthshot Prize. We’re unafraid to tackle the hardest challenges and we set ambitious goals that ensure our hard work will make the maximum impact.

As a Textile Supply Chain Manager at Circ, you will play a pivotal role in setting up and ensuring the smooth operation of our fiber through the supply chain. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with mills, providing feedback, vetting vendors, onboarding new partners, managing Circ-Ready partners, negotiating price, and overseeing tight timelines to meet our production requirements. Additionally, you will strategize material allocation, manage resources efficiently, and match mills to specific brand requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Mill Relationships: Bring knowledge of, and cultivate and maintain strong relationships with textile mills, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Develop a structured feedback mechanism to address issues and enhance performance with mill partners. Translate technical information into actionable feedback for the business, facilitating continuous improvement, providing a critical function to Circ.
  • Vendor Vetting and Onboarding: Conduct thorough vetting of potential vendors, assessing their capabilities and alignment with our objectives. Manage the onboarding process efficiently.
  • Management of Circ-Ready Partners: Oversee partners involved in circular textile initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards and objectives. Facilitate onboarding and support from our technical team in order to utilize our fibers in their fabric production process.
  • Pricing: Be able to negotiate price amongst different supply chain partners and stay up to date on the latest commodity and competitive pricing.
  • Timelines Management: Effectively manage tight production timelines, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to meet deadlines.
  • Fabric Collection Development: Work closely with mills to manage development of fabric and swatch collections to drive forward Circ business.
  • Resource Management: Optimize the utilization of limited resources within the mill environment to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Matching Mills to Brands: Analyze brand requirements and align them with suitable mills, considering factors such as quality, capacity, and sustainability practices.
  • Strategic Material Seeding: Strategize the allocation of materials with partner mills, considering long-term objectives and market trends.
  • Forecasting: Anticipate future demands and trends in the textile industry, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making. Communicate cross-functionally to keep the company informed of issues and forecasting for mills.
  • Navigating Scaling Complexity: Navigate the complexities of scaling up our mill relationships while being between the pilot and commercial stages. Develop strategies to manage the transition effectively, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Travel and Communication: Travel to mills and partner locations as needed for relationship building, negotiations, and problem-solving. Maintain open and effective communication channels with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in textile supply chain management, with a focus on working with mill partners as well as brands.
  • Strong understanding of fabric constructions and textile manufacturing processes, including dyeing, weaving, and finishing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to diverse cultural environments.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices within the textile industry is desirable.
