Bevi is seeking a driven and detailed-oriented individual who is excited to embrace the Lab Technician role and grow with our team. You will play a key role in our fast paced beverage development initiatives, focusing on laboratory testing and support. Reporting directly to the Flavor Scientist, you will assist in analytical testing of beverages, screening new ingredients and have a direct impact on the direction of Bevi’s future beverage offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize basic beverage formulation knowledge to identify risks in testing, and troubleshooting issues with minimal supervision.
• Screen new ingredients from suppliers, explore dosage levels, and ensure all samples meet Bevi standards (vegan, kosher, non-GMO, natural, etc.).
• Prepare bench-top formulations based on Flavor Scientist’s direction, set up samples for sensory evaluations, and assist in office-wide tastings for new products.
• Perform, log, and report all analytical testing necessary for development projects.
• Manage feedback and revise timelines with suppliers for ongoing product development.
• Manage beverage lab operations, including equipment maintenance and calibration, material inventory, sanitation, and sample production.
• Coordinate ingredient and production material orders with suppliers.
• Coordinate sample shipping to Bevi’s cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Adhere to laboratory procedures and safety protocols as outlined in SOPs.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements.

Requirements

• 1+ years of laboratory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, microbiology, food sciences, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and data collection.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities with a keen sense of prioritization.
• Collaborative team player, comfortable working closely with a tight-knit beverage team.
• Willingness to travel (~10%).
• Availability to work in the office 5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in food product development.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Knowledge of sensory science and consumer testing.
• ServSafe certification.
