Mechanical Engineering Analysis Intern

Engineering Analysis Department is seeking an intern in the Mechanical Analysis team. The mechanical engineering analysis team performs various analysis including structural, seismic, thermal, fatigue, and vibration. The qualified candidate will receive mentorship from senior and principal engineers, and the intern will take actual ownership of the analysis tasks. They will be given challenges that make a real impact on the design of reactor components.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of seismic effect on the reactor components

• Support engineering design and/or analysis activities for reactor components utilizing a broad engineering knowledge base.

• Develop analysis models for seismic response and/or calculating stress response in structures in effort to validate design.

• Develop or contribute to the calculation report for the analysis.

• Collaborate with other team members for the reactor component design.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering discipline.

• Student must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Overall GPA of 3.5 or above is required.

• Student must be willing to work in-office in the Bellevue, WA area.

• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and with analysis-oriented software, such as Ansys are preferred.

• Student must have completed “Strength of Materials (or Solid mechanics)” course before the start of the Summer 2025 intern.

• Desire to solve complex technical challenges and learn from an excellent team of engineers.

• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Undergrad: $21.80 - $28.55

Graduate: $38.93 - $42.04
