Job Description
Sol Systems is seeking an Engineering Intern to help support the team this summer. The role will help the utility scale solar and battery storage engineering team to fulfill its core mission by maintaining databases of drawings, documents, calculations, and technical specifications. The Engineering Intern will have a summer-long project to organize and consolidate various file registries to make it more efficient and easier to access the critical information we need. There will be a special project to evaluate various alternative design strategies for solar PV and Battery Storage projects, led by a project engineer and supported by the Engineer Intern.

The Engineering Intern will be responsible for:
- Managing engineering documentation (drawings, calculations, and other documents).
- Organizing technical specification document revision
- Preliminary layout and energy modeling with software
- Additional duties as assigned
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Undergraduate rising junior or senior in a STEM related field, including but not limited to Engineering
- Proficient with file management, data analysis with Microsoft Excel, document revision, and editing with Microsoft Word
- An interest in renewable energy
- Experience with CAD, GIS, or web-based land estimation tools is a plus
Location & Hours:This role will be based in our Washington, DC office, with a required 30 - 40 hours per week.
Commitment & Compensation: This is a paid internship. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
