The Position
The Smart Wires Analytics team is reimagining how power-system planning can be done in an optimal and reproducible way. Our current opportunities lie at the intersection of Power-System Modeling and Analysis, Software Engineering, and Data Analytics.
This role involves working closely with Power Systems Engineers. Qualified candidates are optimistic, energetic, excellent communicators, and thrive when working as part of a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Analytics team in conducting steady-state and dynamic studies of customer transmission systems.
- Assist in data collection and organization for power-system modeling and analysis.
- Help maintain and document internal analysis tools and scripts.
- Support the testing and validation of models.
- Participate in team and company meetings to learn about (and contribute to) customer applications, product development, team building, and leadership.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with coursework in Power Systems.
- Proficient in at least one industry-standard programming high-level scientific computing languages, preferably Python and C.
- Strong written communication skills for documentation.
- Eager to learn and solve complex problems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to ask questions when needed.
- Ability to work in a diverse, global team environment.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Completion of power systems coursework.
- Exposure to power-system simulation software (e.g., PSLF, PSS/e, PowerWorld, PowerFactory).
- Basic understanding of power transmission systems.
- Any previous project experience (academic or extracurricular) related to power systems or renewable energy.
- Interest in FACTS devices and grid modernization.
Location
Athens, Greece. Financial support is paid in local currency.
Type of contract
Internship agreement.
