Role Summary This role is responsible for the development of electrical vehicle systems and hardware Electronic Control Units ECUs across various technology domains. It requires a fundamental electronics background. The role is highly cross functional and may include occasional travel. The opening will be located at the Palo Alto office location and reports directly to an Engineering Manager within the Hardware organization. This role is expected to work in the office 5 days per week. Responsibilities Design, simulate, and validate high-speed digital and analog circuits to meet signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) requirements. Collaborate with hardware design teams to develop PCB layouts, stack-ups, and routing guidelines that optimize SI and PI performance. Conduct pre-layout and post-layout SI and PI simulations to identify and mitigate signal integrity issues, including reflections, crosstalk, and power distribution network (PDN) noise. Familiar with one or two scripting languages such as Python, Matlab for automation Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, SI and PI design methodologies. This role reports directly to a Distinguished Engineer in the electrical engineering design team at our Palo Alto Office This individual is expected to work in the office 5 days per week. Proficient at using the following EDA Tools: KeySight ADS, Ansys Electronic Desktop (HFSS and SiWave), and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS PCB stackup review and layer assignment for High speed and PDN Perform simulations for signal integrity and power integrity analysis Perform hands-on high speed signal validation and analysis verification including material, de-embedding, and component characterization Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware design, system architecture, silicon, and layout teams to optimize signal and power integrity design based on the simulation data and measurements Power delivery modeling, simulation, and characterization for die, package, board, and voltage regulators Provide implementation guidelines and feedback to silicon, package, and hardware design group for electrical signal and power integrity (crosstalk, return loss, jitter, EMI, power supply noise) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master or PhD's degree preferred. Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $167,400.00 - $209,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
