Role Summary The Business Intelligence Developer is a key role within the Operations & Strategic Management (OSM) team. The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that drive business insight and data-driven decision-making. This role involves creating and optimizing dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau and Power BI, writing and optimizing code for data processing, and ensuring effectiveness and performance of analytics solutions to provide the business with actionable insights. The OSM BI Developer will collaborate closely with the OSM Project Managers and provide support across the Planning Excellence Organization. Additionally, this role will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide solutions that support business objectives. Responsibilities Design and build interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to support business decision-making and performance tracking Develop and maintain processes to extract and integrate data from multiple sources Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting requirements. Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, to ensure reliable access to data Provide continuous maintenance and support for BI tools and solutions, addressing technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing enhancements as needed Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including design specifications, data models, and user guides Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic decision-making Propose projects and areas of opportunities based on data analysis Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BI tools and technologies Propose and implement improvements to enhance BI capabilities and address evolving business needs Collaborate with business to identify process gaps and develop solutions Qualifications BS/BA in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science or a related field Advanced degrees or certifications in BI or data analytics preferred 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, with hands-on experience in developing BI solutions and working with BI tools Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, SAP strongly preferred Strong SQL skills for querying and managing databases required DBT or other programing platforms experience Knowledge of data warehousing concepts such as Redshift and Databricks and best practices Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and generate actionable insights Ability to parallel task or manage activities with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Equal Opportunity Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
