Role Summary Internship Term: Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027. Note that if your university has specific requirements for internship programs, it is your responsibility to fulfill those requirements. Structural simulations to support mechanical design and development of low voltage electrical hardware components. Your work will enable efficient risk assessment on ECUs, sensors, and other components integral to the development of R2 and R3 vehicles. Responsibilities Perform thermal management simulations on LVE electronics with focus on enclosed electronics assemblies having both passive and active (air cooled/liquid cooled) thermal solutions. Apply knowhow of heat-transfer and fluid mechanics to perform design risk assessments and provide risk mitigation solutions. Create pre/post processing scripts to increase simulation turnaround time and improve workflow efficiency. Develop thermal validation and testing plan; perform thermal validation experiments. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
