About the role

Plenty is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team on a contract basis for about 3 to 6 months. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will provide expertise in accounting best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will have a daily impact on financial transactions, keeping our records accurate and maintaining good relationships with our valued partners.

What you'll do

• Financial Reporting: Manage the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of requested documentation and information
• General Ledger: Support general ledger accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment approvals, dedicating approximately 5-10 hours a week to this function
• Assess and Improve: Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

What you'll bring to the table

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate across all level of an organization and present complex financial information clearly and concisely
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and evolving responsibilities
