Job Description
At Planet A Foods, we’re not just rethinking chocolate: we’re redefining it. With ChoViva, our groundbreaking cocoa-free chocolate alternative, we’re shaping a more sustainable and delicious future. As a Product Scientist - Flavor, you'll take a hands-on approach to redefine the limits of flavor and color in our ChoViva Concentrate, using your creativity to unlock new possibilities and contribute to patent filings that safeguard our groundbreaking innovations.
- Level up the flavor and color of our Choviva Concentrate to bring it closer to genuine cocoa
- Contribute to the development and filing of new patents that protect our innovative work
- Generate and test creative ideas to optimize our flavor base and production process
- Take the lead on hands-on, creative experiments, including DoE, that push flavor innovation forward
- Collaborate closely with the Process Team to ensure smooth integration of innovations into production
- Operate and analyze data from analytical instruments such as GC and HPLC
- At least 2 years of industry experience, with a track record of product innovation and cost reduction
- You have a Master's degree in Food Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field, with a strong background in flavor chemistry
- Familiarity with IP rights and prior experience in coordinating the application process for patents, trademarks, or other intellectual property protections
- Solid hands-on lab experience with a practical and creative mindset
- Practical familiarity with analytical techniques and tools such as GC, MS, and LC
- Knowledge or expertise in chocolate or cocoa is a strong plus
