Job Description
As a Bioprocess Engineer Intern, you will design, optimize, and scale up precision fermentation processes for cocoa butter alternatives, while maintaining laboratory equipment and analyzing data.
Opening: 15th July 2025
- Design and optimize precision fermentations for cocoa butter alternatives in collaboration with the team
- Operate and maintain bioreactor systems and other essential laboratory equipment
- Conduct experiments, collect samples, and perform analytical tests to monitor and evaluate process performance
- Analyze data to identify trends, optimize process parameters, and troubleshoot issues.
Support process scale-up, DSP activities, technology transfer, process validation, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field
- A strong familiarity with bioreactor systems, fermentation processes, sample collection and analysis, and commonly used laboratory equipment in downstream processing is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of basic principles and concepts of fermentation and/or process engineering
- Experience with lipid extraction techniques (e.g., solvent extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, membrane separation) is an advantage
- Basic understanding of process optimization principles and statistical analysis techniques with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python) is a plus
- Attention to detail and ability to follow experimental protocols NB: This internship opportunity must be linked to a mandatory internship through a university and should last 6 months.
