We’re hiring a product-minded, customer-focused Software Engineer with a bias toward shipping to join our founding team. You’ll be one of our first team members, with a unique opportunity to build applications from scratch, craft our engineering processes, and shape culture.

You will work with the team to identify and prioritize customer and contractor pain points, own and ship features that address these pain points end-to-end, and collaboratively make key technology and architecture decisions. We’re looking for team members who are excited to build from scratch with an emphasis on speed-to-learning. You’ll inherit no tech debt, legacy code, or flaky tests.

Ideally, you:

• Have 5+ years of software engineering experience across multiple companies

• Are a full-stack engineer currently using TypeScript / JavaScript and React

• Build responsive, user-friendly applications and understand the principles of good design

• Are skilled at building / leveraging RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services into web apps

• Are a strong quantitative thinker

• Are excited about building at an early stage

• Are passionate about the problem we’re solving

• Are a great teammate

It’s a bonus if you:

• Have marketplace / enterprise SaaS experience

• Have early-stage startup experience, or were previously a founder yourself

• Have helped to build great engineering teams

In this role, you will initially:

• Work with the founders (and interact with customers and partners) to set the direction, roadmap, and requirements for the products we build, with the goal of creating value for customers / installers

• Produce fast, flexible code to deliver these features

• Implement back-end code and business logic to deliver an instant, high-fidelity heating and cooling system design and quote

• Build customer- and contractor-facing applications

• Direct technology / data architecture choices
