THE OPPORTUNITY
In this pivotal role, you won’t just be a part of the team—you’ll be at the forefront of the most critical and exciting projects NavVis is currently driving. This is your opportunity to lead shaping our data strategy, directly influencing the company's future. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, from measuring sales success to optimizing production workflows. Build reports that provide clear insights and translate those insights into actionable strategies.
- Technical Infrastructure: Lead the development of our BI technical infrastructure, including integrating tools like Fivetran to collect data from various sources (e.g., CRM, databases). Oversee the cleanup and structuring of data using DBT, ensuring it flows seamlessly into Power BI reports.
- Report Maintenance: Support teams that manage their own Power BI reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning effectively.
- BI Community Building: Regularly organize and lead activities for our internal BI community and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across all levels of the organization.
- Power BI Development: Design and develop complex Power BI reports that cater to the needs of different teams. For example, create a one-click report for the finance team to monitor current inventory and a report that aligns production with sales targets, helping teams make informed decisions.
- User Engagement: Bring together different levels of BI users, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing. This includes managing a Power BI teams channel, hosting QA sessions, and organizing informal breakfast meetings to discuss BI challenges and solutions.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop junior team members, acting as their primary point of contact for guidance and support in their growth within the BI space.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THE ROLE
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, with a strong focus on Power BI and data infrastructure development.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, and ETL processes (e.g. CRM, ERP). Experience with data warehousing and data governance.
- Leadership: Proven ability to mentor junior team members, manage cross-functional projects, and drive BI strategy.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and to bring your point across even at senior leadership level.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
