Job Description
We are looking for a Demand and Planning Officer to join our Supply Chain group; as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
Job Purpose
As a Demand and Planning Officer, you’ll be responsible for placing purchase orders, making sure the right quantities are ordered, and coordinating with suppliers to keep everything on track. Your goal is to ensure we always have the materials we need, exactly when we need them, to meet dispatch demands and keep supply flowing.
What will you do?
Day-to-day, you’ll be managing purchase orders from start to finish—creating, tracking, and ensuring everything arrives as expected. You’ll work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, resolve any issues, and maintain strong relationships.
Monitoring stock levels will be part of your routine, making sure we reorder in time to avoid any delays. Keeping accurate records of all orders, deliveries, and any changes along the way is crucial, as well as ensuring all materials meet quality standards and company requirements.
Since the accuracy of records is key, you’ll be responsible for updating order details in our supply chain system, making sure pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules are always correct. If any issues come up, such as incorrect shipments or late deliveries, you’ll be the one to step in and work with suppliers to get things sorted quickly. You’ll also ensure that all procurement activities align with company policies and industry standards, keeping everything compliant and efficient.
Beyond managing orders, you’ll play a key role in monitoring stock availability in the market and keeping reports updated. You’ll analyze sales trends and other factors that impact material planning, helping improve forecasting, inventory management, and safety stock processes. And of course, you’ll be ready to jump in and support other tasks as needed.
This is an onsite role in Kenya reporting to the Demand and Planning Manager
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a degree in Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, along with at least one year of experience in demand planning or forecasting.
A solid understanding of inventory management practices, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with integrated supply chain systems will set you up for success.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Excel will help you handle data-driven decision-making effectively. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are also key, as you’ll be working with different teams and suppliers to keep everything running smoothly.
