Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility

At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.

We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.

Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

Join our team as a Staff Electrical Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in architecting Lucid's cutting-edge Battery Management Systems (BMS). You will take on a range of responsibilities that encompass the entire product development cycle, from initial concept to mass production. We are seeking a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and who is committed to delivering excellence at every step of the journey.

The Role:

  • Architecting Lucid's Next-Generation BMS: Taking ownership of the BMS hardware, including proposing features, defining specifications, selecting components, designing hardware, and validating the system end-to-end.
  • Electrical Design and Enhancement: Contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of BMS for electric vehicles.
  • Leading Troubleshooting Efforts: Taking charge of identifying and resolving field issues, ensuring our products operate flawlessly.
  • Integration Expertise: Collaborating with cross-functional teams in powertrain and vehicle-level integrations, from prototype to production.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, software engineering, and supply chain teams to streamline the product's journey to mass production.
  • Safety-Critical Development: Being part of a team that creates advanced and safety-critical electronic products that push the boundaries of innovation.

    Qualifications:

  • Electronics Expertise: A solid background in electronics components and circuits.
  • Mixed Signal Proficiency: Experience in developing mixed-signal circuits for high-speed, high-resolution applications.
  • BMS Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience working with BMS or similar safety-critical products.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in schematic capture tools, with experience in worst-case analysis and DFMEA.
  • PCB Layout Mastery: Expert knowledge of PCB layout best practices for high voltage applications, including SI/PI improvements, noise immunity, and EMI mitigation strategies.
  • Hands-On Skills: Practical experience in debugging various electronic components, such as MCUs, OpAmps, AD/DA converters, SMPS, and communication circuits.
  • Test Equipment: Comfortable with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, probes, and power analyzers.
  • Circuit Simulation: Familiarity with circuit simulation tools for OpAmp circuits, SMPS, and transient analysis.
  • Safety Expertise: Expert knowledge of BMS functional safety requirements.

    Advantageous:

  • Previous work experience in the automotive industry.
  • Previous involvement in BMS, Inverters, On-board chargers, or other powertrain products.
  • A working knowledge of Power Electronics and experience in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design.

    Education:

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering required
