Our Global Supplier Industrialization team facilitates the rapid industrialization of innovative products worldwide. The Senior Manager, in this prominent role, recruits, develops, mentors, and leads a team of Supplier Industrialization Engineers and Leaders across various regions (NA, MEAA, Europe and Asia). Reporting to the Director-Head of Global Supplier Industrialization at the USA HQ, this position interfaces with Regional Leadership in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and our Supplier partners to industrialize challenging designs without compromising quality.

Candidates must be industrious, agile, and capable of working across different time zones, with flexibility for relocation and expatriate assignments (1-3 years). Extensive global travel is required to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, guide upfront design development, and work directly with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control strategies to meet ambitious specifications and ensure flawless execution during launch.

Cultural sensitivity and global team-building skills are essential. Candidates should have strong experience managing global teams and suppliers, direct supplier industrialization activities at a leadership level, and consistently contribute positively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

You Will:

Provide Regional SIE Team Leadership and Development:

  • Under the guidance of the Director-Head of Global Supplier Industrialization, build and lead high-performing regional SIE teams in NA, MEAA, Europe, and Asia.
  • Optimize allocation and utilization of regional SIE resources to ensure flawless execution during launch.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to enhance the skills of regional SIE team members.
  • Establish and communicate OKRs, goals, and KPIs to instill accountability within regional teams.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, including 1:1 meetings and annual evaluations, for regional team members.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication and escalation to the Corporate Head-Director and Executive Leadership.

APQP/New Product introductions (NPI):

  • Drive successful NPI by partnering with regional and corporate teams.
  • Conduct supplier visits, assessments and implement quality plans (DFM/A, APQP, PPAP) specific to each region.
  • Lead reviews of regional SIE readiness for NPI and implement robust risk mitigation processes.

Regional Supplier Collaboration and Performance Management for product launches:

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with regional suppliers, ensuring they meet industrialization expectations.
  • Ensure regional SIEs are on-site at supplier locations for problem solving and to analyze regional supplier performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement data-driven action plans for regional supplier improvement projects.
  • Lead regional supplier risk mitigation strategies to ensure quality and consistency during product launches.

Regional Supplier Collaboration and Performance Management in mass production:

  • Ensure optimal SIE/SQE resources and processes are in place regionally to resolve supplier quality issues.
  • Ensure regional SIEs are on-site at supplier locations for problem solving and minimize plant disruptions due to regional supplier-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Plant SQEs, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Materials Planning teams within each region.

General Leadership:

  • Lead by example to positively influence regional and global stakeholders.
  • Participate in leadership review meetings, overseeing the annual SIE budget and resource allocation.
  • Travel 25-75% globally as needed with flexibility for relocation and expatriate assignments (1-3 years) across the globe.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting supplier industrialization.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting regional SIE/Supplier performance, OKRs, goals, KPIs, risks, and strategies for improvement.

You Bring:

  • 15+ years of experience in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business and at least 10+ years of experience as a global supplier industrialization leader. Previous Greenfield project experience preferably with EV start-up would be an asset.
  • 7+ years of people manager experience leading a team of Managers, Leads and SIEs with proven track record of global team development globally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven program management capabilities and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on supplier industrialization, supplier quality toolbox (ISO, IATF, DFM, GD&T) and automotive core pillars (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA) experience. Demonstrated experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments using industry standard methodologies.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, creative mindset in problem-solving
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, be part of the solution and be able to adapt to the dynamic working environment.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA and Tableau is a plus.
  • BS in Engineering, Postgraduate in Business Management a plus.
  • Certification preferred – Project Management, Lead Auditor, American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.
