Responsibilities
- Model-Based Software Development: Design and develop vehicle charging software using a model-based approach, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Engage in all phases of the SDLC, including requirement gathering, documentation, architecture design, software implementation, and unit testing.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct comprehensive vehicle charging tests for software releases, including regression and interoperability testing.
- Collaboration and Troubleshooting: Work closely with various EVSE manufacturers and charging network operators to troubleshoot and resolve interoperability issues.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related STEM field
Required
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Model-Based Experience: Proficient in using MATLAB Simulink for code generation, state flow, model adviser, code guidelines, and test harness development.
- Knowledge of Vehicle Charging Systems: Strong understanding of vehicle charging systems and standards, including J1772 and ISO 15118.
- Communication Protocols: Experience with PLC communication protocols, utilizing sniffers for debugging and troubleshooting.
- Testing Experience: Hands-on experience testing various EVSEs and DC fast chargers (DCFCs) designed for global markets, including North America, Europe, and China. Willingness to travel for vehicle testing support.
- Vehicle System Architecture: Solid understanding of vehicle system architecture and the interactions between different Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in electric vehicles.
- AUTOSAR Configuration: Experience configuring Basic Software (BSW) using AUTOSAR configuration tools, such as Vector or EB.
- Diagnostics Development: Familiarity with developing software for vehicle diagnostics, including Diagnostic Identifier (DID), Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), and Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) routines.
- Development Tools: Proficient in using automotive development and debugging tools, such as Vector CANape, CANalyzer, and CAN/Ethernet sniffing tools.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to create detailed test plans and conduct interoperability tests.
- Project Management Tools: Proficiency in using Jama, Jira, and Confluence for project management and documentation.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of high voltage safety and product safety concepts.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced model-based design techniques.
- Familiarity with emerging vehicle charging technologies and trends.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- C coding language experience
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
