Lucid is seeking a Senior Interface Process Engineer in Automotive industry to Manage the interface between production process equipment and building/utilities of new automotive manufacturing facility. This position will center coordinating installation of automotive manufacturing production machines and equipment’s that requires managing outside consultants and contractors to meet the project design schedule. The successful candidate will have spent considerable time launching new facilities in an automotive manufacturing environment. This position requires partnership with internal departments that include building Facilities, General Assembly, BIW, Stamping, Powertrain, and Logistics. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude, and approaches work with full determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective field to possess the ability to learn quickly within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the interface between production process equipment and building/utilities.
  • Technically assesses compatibility of facility design with production process equipment assumptions in terms of structural loading, cooling, process pits & utilities matrix ..etc.
  • Provide technical evaluation of manufacturing layout and its impact to Facility design / construction.
  • Understand all engineering changes to plant and layout to ensure risk mitigation.
  • Participate in on site installation activities during plant fit out of equipment and machinery.
  • Participate in vendor activities such as site acceptance testing.
  • Ensure coordination of schedules across all stakeholder functions
  • develop and implement a Coordinated Works Program to promote the seamless integration of facility design/construction and process tooling installation activities across all entities working onsite.
  • Proactively engage and develop strategies with internal stakeholders, facility design/construction, and process equipment vendors/installers during the design and construction phases to reduce interface risks.
  • Anticipate schedule clashes and drive resolution to ensure eventual production process readiness milestones are still achieved.
  • Manage the site container storage process.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee the project quality plan and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience on an interface engineer
  • Previous experience working in Paint and/or, BIW shops is recommended.

Profile Requirements:

  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Must possess the ability to participate presentations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, Autodesk cloud, A site.
  • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan.
  • Ability to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude.
