Job Description

Leading the future in luxury electric and mobility

At Lucid, we set out to introduce the most captivating, luxury electric vehicles that elevate the human experience and transcend the perceived limitations of space, performance, and intelligence. Vehicles that are intuitive, liberating, and designed for the future of mobility.

We plan to lead in this new era of luxury electric by returning to the fundamentals of great design – where every decision we make is in service of the individual and environment. Because when you are no longer bound by convention, you are free to define your own experience.

Come work alongside some of the most accomplished minds in the industry. Beyond providing competitive salaries, we’re providing a community for innovators who want to make an immediate and significant impact. If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.

As the Manager of IT Engineering Tools Management at Lucid, you will play a pivotal role as the primary liaison between the Engineering Services team and various business units. Your expertise will enhance our product development capabilities as we continue to scale. Collaborating with a diverse range of business partners, your responsibilities will include understanding business processes, prioritizing user experience, and developing secure, high-performance solutions that align with both business and technological goals. You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of IT engineering tools, mentor and manage team members, and support the IT engineering team. Your leadership will be crucial in advancing business process automation solutions for internal teams.

You Will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and the primary IT liaison to Engineering Services and other business units utilizing tools, particularly managing Atlassian Cloud instances (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Opsgenie, Bitbucket, Jira Product Discovery).
  • Act as a strategic team member, understanding how tools are utilized and planning future technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain an IT Business Systems roadmap aligned with goals from supported teams, balancing resources, prioritization, and technical solutions.
  • Identify technical support needs to enhance the Engineering Services team’s capabilities and address skill gaps.
  • Collaborate with Business Systems Leadership on IT strategic planning, budgeting (leveraging onshore and offshore models), and communication. This includes prioritizing the IT Enterprise Roadmap and establishing core IT processes in a rapidly growing company.
  • Lead the management of system inventory and vendor relationships alongside the operations team. Support software renewal negotiations, vendor onboarding, and contract reviews in partnership with the Engineering Services TPM.
  • Understand Lucid’s product portfolio and new offerings to document end-to-end future state processes as needed.
  • Partner with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team to design Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) systems, implement access management, and uphold security policies.
  • Comprehend end-to-end business processes that solutions integrate into, handle change and ambiguity, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines.
  • Work with the Enterprise Architect to develop technical standards and recommend solutions.
  • Lead with Lucid’s principles and values, fostering teamwork and a collaborative culture. Measure success by customer satisfaction and the success of the Business Systems team.
  • Implement and ensure compliance processes for SOX, GDPR, etc., in partnership with the GRC team. Collaborate with the operations team on federal compliance.
  • Stay abreast of best practices, trends, and advancements, including AI, in commercial technology.
  • Establish best practices for custom development, from simple scripts to complex plugins using the Atlassian SDK.
  • Serve as a technical lead on both internal and business unit projects.
  • Mentor junior team members and support the IT engineering team.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in developing or enhancing business process automation solutions, especially around the Atlassian stack.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to create technical designs and recommend solutions.
  • Partner with IT Managers and various business partners to develop departmental roadmaps.
  • Work with internal engineering teams and external vendors to create consistent, scalable solutions.
  • Engage with internal audit and compliance teams to identify, address, and prevent issues and risks.
  • Oversee design, code review, and release management within the internal software development lifecycle.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships and collaborate with extended teams.
  • Deep understanding of software product development processes and familiarity with Lucid systems, processes, and integrations.
  • Over 8 years of experience in maintaining and enhancing engineering systems such as the Atlassian suite and GitHub.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving system enhancement projects from user requirements gathering to completion. This includes providing configuration, development, and application support to improve productivity, reporting, and collaboration.
  • High proficiency in verbal and written communication with strong presentation skills.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and participating in the software selection process.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of accountability and a track record of delivering results through influence and leadership.
  • Detail-oriented and goal-driven, capable of managing multiple projects or activities concurrently.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, including handling ad-hoc requests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in driving engagement, adoption, and change for processes and technology.
  • Demonstrated success in project execution and working directly with IT and business users.
  • Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, and enterprise application architecture. Experience in managing expectations and prioritizing effectively.
  • Familiarity with various project methodologies through active participation.
