The Maintenance Technician will support the General Assembly team by maintaining facility and process equipment, including lifts, conveyors, and related systems. They will develop strategies to meet team and company goals, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth daily operations. The role requires knowledge of automotive OEM processes, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to perform under pressure. The Technician will contribute to operations, create reports as needed, and foster teamwork within the organization.

You Will

  • Operate and maintain manufacturing / industrial equipment across various shops.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
  • Service and document chemical treatment programs and maintain cranes, hoists, and supporting equipment.
  • Support other departments to meet production needs and adjust work schedules as required.
  • Ensure compliance with processes and enforce safety rules and regulations.
  • Drive equipment modernization and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and implement preventive maintenance (PM) activities.
  • Develop risk matrices for critical equipment and establish measures to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee contractors and vendors to ensure cost-effective outcomes.
  • Perform system commissioning and integrate administrative controls.
  • Collaborate with production teams to provide technical expertise.
  • Communicate equipment status and operational impacts to internal customers.
  • Utilize PC programs and monitoring systems effectively.

You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing / industrial equipment maintenance & repair
  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, walk, and lift to 50 pounds frequently

Desired Skills

  • Mechanical experience in manufacturing equipment installation & troubleshooting
  • Electrical, pneumatics & hydraulics
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC, BMS, or other logic platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
