As a Durability CAE Engineer, you will be leading the assessment of durability attributes for various vehicle subsystems like Suspension, Body, Powertrain, Battery Pack, Interiors, Exteriors, Closures, seating etc. Along with CAE assessments, you will be involved in testing activities such as test plan development, test to CAE correlation, test data acquisition etc. You will also have opportunity to drive the design changes through design optimization, defining the durability requirements, working with the design team to conduct trade-off studies. This position will work with all testing activities in the company including Regulatory, Certification, and Compliance testing as well as all system and sub-system/component testing.

The Role:

• Perform strength, stiffness, and fatigue analysis on different vehicle subsystems (chassis, closures, body structure etc)
• Perform correlation between test and CAE
• Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work
• Able to create FEM mesh from CAD or from rough sketches
• Support design engineers in making sure the parts meet all the durability requirements
• Able to learn and use different CAE software tools (nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, OptiStruct, Hyperworks CAE products, ADAMS etc).
• Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques. Participate in new CAE method development, process automation and similar tasks.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience. Degree in mechanical engineering or related field .
• Relevant experience in CAE analysis, testing and development
• Working knowledge of linear, non-linear analysis, fatigue analysis, design optimization etc.
• Good fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials
• Knowledge of ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStruct

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$110,600—$152,020 USD
