| What will I be doing? As a member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT), the Head of Sustainability at Kaluza plays a critical role in helping deliver Kaluza’s long-term strategy - [Mission Transition. ](https://info.kaluza.com/hubfs/KALUZA MISSION TRANSITION CHAPTER 1.pdf) The Head of Sustainability role spans four intertwined strategic pillars: Mission Transition Sustainability Advocacy Market and Product Development Global Sustainability Requirements Mission Transition Evolve and implement Kaluza’s sustainability strategy and climate pledges to reflect our global ambitions and the paradigm shift we can drive through the Kaluza platform Lead initiatives to reduce Kaluza’s carbon footprint and promote carbon avoidance Ensure alignment with our clients’ sustainability objectives Sustainability Advocacy Elevate Kaluza’s profile as an important driving force on the path to net zero Craft and own Kaluza’s sustainability narratives, including thought leadership on key debates, blogs, talking points, issue management and media commentary Lead sustainability-focused PR activities Empower Kaluza’s SLT and key spokespeople to stay ahead of key debates, policy trends, and pertinent developments in our key markets Represent Kaluza at external events, promoting our sustainability efforts Champion our sustainability agenda internally - motivate and inspire our colleagues about the collective potential of Kaluza to drive win-win-win outcomes for energy utilities, customers and the planet Inspire the Kaluza teams to recognise and embrace the critical role they play every day to bring net zero within everyone’s reach Market and Product Development Keep laser focus on commercial goals and empower our growth teams to stay ahead of potential policy barriers Support deal progression by providing strategic counsel on sustainability challenges and opportunities, as well as crafting relevant sustainability assets (e.g. slides, RFP answers etc.) Provide sustainability intelligence and insights to inform product development Foster a culture of sustainability innovation within Kaluza Build and foster collaborative relationships with key government agencies - develop a forensic understanding of policy and communicate for influence Global Sustainability Requirements Stay informed about global sustainability trends and requirements Ensure Kaluza’s compliance with relevant sustainability regulations, including overseeing the preparation and submission of SECR and SBTi. Develop and implement Kaluza’s Modern Slavery Statement and ensure all practices are in line with modern slavery legislation. Drive the process for maintaining B-Corp certification and implement policies and practices that meet B-Corp standards. Coordinate reporting efforts and supporting narratives |
| Is this the job for me? Ideally you’ll have/be Extensive experience in Sustainability across strategy, advocacy, policy, communications and reporting Genuine passion for your work and a net-zero future Deep understanding of the energy transition and its driving forces including renewable generation, distribution and storage, electrification, and the energy trading markets Excellent communicator - you have a remarkable aptitude to articulate sustainability messages in a credible, compelling and impactful way to influence attitudes and behaviours, both externally and internally Commercially astute leader who understands the pressures and opportunities faced by energy suppliers and can engage with the buyer persona knowledgeably and effectively Naturally curious and keen to learn - your critical thinking skills and thirst for knowledge enable you to assess future needs and think multiple steps ahead Bias for action and motivated by positive outcomes - you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are highly motivated to see Kaluza drive positive change in the world Enjoy setting a department strategy, and can use this to influence the whole company strategy Be able to positively challenge peers in debates, collaborations, and ultimately drive alignment across multiple business areas Enjoy presenting at events and conferences Have a BA/BS in policy, economics, business, engineering, environment, or other related degree, and preferably a relevant advanced degree Enjoy working outside of a defined swim lane and proactively dig into projects with a focus on getting results |
