Who we are
At Genomines, our mission is to pioneer a new era of sustainable mining by using genetically enhanced plants to extract metals from the ground (agromining). Through synthetic biology and cutting-edge technology, we harness the power of nature to create bioengineered plants that can farm for metals while decontaminating soils and creating cleaner lands for agriculture. Our ultimate goal is to become the world's first carbon-negative mining group, using sustainable, eco-friendly methods to extract the valuable resources our society needs for the energy transition.
Genomines is entering a rapid growth phase with the scaled agriculture and commercialization of our metal products. Backed by some of the largest and most influential climate tech funds worldwide, we have a grand ambition to supply the world’s green energy transition with plant based metals.
What this job's about

Operations interns will be critical support members during our next phase of project development. The responsibilities of Operations interns will be dynamic, challenging, and focus on developing our projects and value chain: field operations, thermal processing industrialization, logistics and supply chain, and country expansion will be the core focuses during the internship. Additional support may include strategy and market analyses, research, and business development.
Successful interns have demonstrated a rigorous attention to detail, pride & ownership over their work, effective communication skills, a strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial mindset, a team-first attitude, and humility.
What we're looking for
We are seeking end-of-study candidates currently pursuing a Master's degree (BAC+5), with a preference for an academic focus in engineering or hard science. We look for strong analytical skills, resilience, ambition, and an ability to grasp complexity in a fast-paced startup environment. Previous work experience in agriculture, metal processing, or engineering project development is a strong plus.
