Job Description

Experience Level: 9-12 years


Key Responsibilities:


Thermal Component Ownership: Act as the Thermal Component Owner (Design Release Engineer) for cold plates and plumbing within battery energy storage systems.

Cold Plate Design: Design and develop efficient cold plates for thermal management, ensuring optimal heat dissipation and performance.

Plumbing Systems: Engineer and integrate effective plumbing systems for coolant flow within thermal management solutions.

System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cold plates and plumbing systems into the overall thermal management architecture.

Thermal Analysis: Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to validate the performance of cold plates and plumbing systems using relevant software tools.

Component Testing and Validation: Perform testing and validation of cold plates and plumbing systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.

Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for cold plates and plumbing components to enhance thermal performance and durability.

Design Optimization: Continuously optimize designs to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall system performance.

Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of designs, analyses, tests, and processes to support product development and certification.

Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues related to thermal management components to maintain optimal system performance.

Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements, including UL, IEC, and ISO.

Key Skills and Qualifications:


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.

Strong understanding of cold plate design and thermal management principles.

Experience with designing and integrating plumbing systems for coolant flow.

Proficiency in thermal analysis and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Fluent).

Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for mechanical design.

Experience in testing and validating thermal management components.

Knowledge of material selection for thermal management applications.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for thermal components.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Proven track record of successful project management and delivery within the specified experience level.
