Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION:


This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit. Fluence Digital’s software technology uses fully automated data acquisition, analysis and computational algorithms powered by artificial intelligence.

As Asset Performance Engineer, you will have access to one the largest dataset of operational data of BESS to analyse the performance at any level of the site. You will be able to understand the operational aspects of these assets and to identify issues and criticalities. For this purpose, you will handle big data volumes and you will extract clear insights, also leveraging on machine-learning techniques and physical modelling. Collaborating with other development teams for improving the APM solution and building relationships with clients are key responsibilities for this role.

The role will be based in Fluence Digital’s Zürich office, and will report into the Product team, with close interaction with data scientist, software engineers, product managers and field service engineers to shape the evolution of our company and the future of the renewable assets’ performance management and optimization landscape.


Key responsibilities include:

•Analyze Battery Energy Storage Systems performance, using operational data and collaborating with several subject matter experts.

•Assist in the development of both physics-based and data-driven advanced battery analytics models.

•Analyze market and interact with stakeholders to enhance and/or build new modules and functionalities in the APM.

•Technical support to our Service and clients.

•Work closely with Data Scientists and Software Engineers in an Agile framework to develop new products.


What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

•MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related fields.

•Academic experience in battery storage technology. Work experience is a plus.

•Knowledge of battery cell physics and chemistry, as well as experience with cell and battery system state (SOX) modelling.

•Product Management experience is a plus

•Proven programming skills with Python (data analysis and visualization packages)

•Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms is a plus

•Team player with excellent communication skills

•Strong attention to detail

•Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver solutions quickly at high quality

•Passionate about learning, and tackling new and exciting technical challenges
