Job Description
Here at Eternal Sun, we build high-end simulators that make sunlight. They’re used by the world’s biggest solar panel producers and leading R&D labs to assure the quality and performance of their panels. We make sure they can be sure about what they produce. With our precision, innovative mindset and determination, we make a significant impact.
Solar is growing, we are growing. Over the past decade, we have grown to 65 FTE, in Europe, South East Asia, China and the USA. At Eternal Sun, team members can enjoy operational freedom and flexibility but always in close cooperation with the rest of the team. You will find an open atmosphere in an organization with safety, feedback, ownership and customer satisfaction as the core values for our success.
The Job
Eternal Sun is looking for an Application Engineer, with a strong team spirit that enjoys solving challenging technical puzzles in advanced test equipment. Are you interested in serving international customers and also traveling the globe for a few times a year, solving technical challenges with customers in solar PV factories and laboratories worldwide?
As an Application Engineer you will be solving machine and solar panel related issues as part of the customer service team from The Hague. It is therefore important that you have a home base in or close to The Hague. Next to that, you will be going on troubleshooting or service trips several times a year, which is why it is important that you are willing to travel.
The main tasks for this job, as part of the customer service team, you will be responding to high priority customer issues, either remote from our The Hague office or occasionally on-site at our customers. Furthermore you will be:
- Performing structured problem analysis and fishbone root cause analysis to find causes of issues, which can be caused by either the solar panel itself or the machine that is testing
- Intensively cooperating with the Data engineer that analyses PV module test data and gives direction for the search of the possible causes of an issue (in case of his absence also covering for his urgent tasks)
- Maintaining fleet dashboard overviews to keep track of uptime of the machines in the field and prioritize maintenance, problem solving and in-field upgrades.
- Form the link between the field service engineers (2x US, 1x Malaysia, 1x India) and the teams in the headquarter
- Occasionally joining service and installation trips of the field services engineers, to learn and support the customer service team.
