Position Overview

Circ is seeking a Process Chemist II with strong analytical chemistry skills, particularly in HPLC, to join our Manufacturing team in Springfield. The ideal candidate will have experience in process industries and a passion for working with data to ensure product quality. This role offers a unique opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the process, work independently, and influence process improvements.

Location: Springfield, OH (On-site)

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST (flexible to 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST)

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory operations – Oversee all aspects of a lab to ensure smooth operations, accurate results, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain standard lab equipment (HPLC; FT-IR; LUMOS) - Analyze and validate product quality.
• Collect specimens - Receive, label and safely store samples.
• Perform titrations and apply general analytical chemistry methodologies to support manufacturing processes.
• Manage process data inputs and analyze data to establish correlations against product quality.
• Utilize LUMOS equipment (stand-alone FT-IR microscope) for process analysis (a plus, not required).
• Record and manage process data in the ERP system (Lockbox) with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ensure compliance with good lab health, safety, and cleanliness practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Deep understanding of the principles behind liquid chromatography techniques
• Practical hands-on experience running and managing a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrument.
• Demonstrated experience in process industries, with specific knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage and analyze process data and present reports.
• Experience with titrations and other general analytical chemistry techniques.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly in data entry and management.
• Familiarity with LUMOS equipment is a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively, especially during periods when the plant is not in full operation.
• Comfortable in an environment that embraces change and innovation with minimal bureaucracy.
• Ability to think outside the box and contribute innovative solutions.
• Adaptable to ambiguity and evolving conditions.
• Mindset for continuous learning and growth in a non-corporate, more intimate company setting.
