What You Will Be Doing
The Director, Sustainability Reporting is a new, high-growth role overseeing ChargePoint’s roadmap for environmental, sustainability, and related governance reporting initiatives. The person will also lead the standardization of our global safety practices and define operating boundaries for employees in projects and operations. By working closely with stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, sales operations, and business applications, the Director, Sustainability Reporting will identify opportunities, align priorities, and recruit collaborators to drive projects to sustainable implementation. This is a position will start with a focus on supply chain and product operations but with immediate tie-in's to larger company initiatives such as ISO14001, conflict mineral reporting and sustainability reporting metrics to customers and investors.
Primary Obligations
- Define and implement a comprehensive sustainability roadmap for ChargePoint aligned with our core values and strategic goals
- Update high-level sustainability strategies as needed, incorporating double materiality principles and conducting necessary assessments
- Oversee the preparation and publication of sustainability disclosures, including an annual Sustainability Report and reporting obligations require by relevant law
- Support compliance with existing and emerging sustainability disclosure requirements including CSRD, SB-253 and SB-261, SEC Climate Change Rules, etc.
- Facilitate ChargePoint’s financial reporting obligation in accordance with reporting standards such as SASB and ESRS
- Work with the team to develop strategic plans in collaboration with business and functional needs to develop, implement, and administer environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs
- Work with the team to develop health and safety policies and procedures (ergonomics, 6S, illness and injury prevention and building safety) including those pertaining to hazardous materials and work areas
- Drives EHS performance to support Key Performance Indicators in line with business expectations
- Work with the team to ensures objectives align with current best practices for occupational health and environmental health and safety
- Monitors performance of EHS programs and regulatory compliance with all internal and global regulations
- Responsible for waste management and recycling programs globally for ChargePoint
- Develop and implement corporate environmental and climate-related goals, such as GHG emissions tracking, recycling and water reduction targets
- Serve as the primary contact for sustainability-related interactions with investors, employees, suppliers, customers, and global stakeholders
- Implement ChargePoint’s supply chain and vendor audit procedures in connection with managing ChargePoint’s membership obligations with the Responsible Business Alliance
- Oversee the development of a climate-risk strategy, including scenario analysis and sustainability-related risk assessments
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to enhance efficiency in sustainability initiatives
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Strong interest in corporate social responsibility, responsible sourcing, and sustainability
- Understanding of common sustainability metrics, data collection methods, and reporting standards
- Excellent project management skills and follow-through
- Entrepreneurial spirit and bias to action
- Top-notch communication across cultures, functional groups, seniority levels, and time zones
Requirements
- College degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or Operations
- Minimum 5 years project management experience in environmental, social and governance or corporate sustainability reporting
- Knowledge of RoHs/REACH, conflict minerals reporting, PFAS, ISO14001 and ISO9001 strongly preferred
- Familiarity with hardware products manufacturing preferred
- Proficiency in ESG Reporting Standards: GHG Protocol, TCFD, TNFD, SASB, ESRS and/or GRI and some of the following reporting tools: S&P Global CSA (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, Refinitiv, EcoVadis
- Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
- Experience in occupational health and environmental safety in a manufacturing environment
Location
Campbell, CA
ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $147,000 to $247,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location
