IT Intern, Spring 2025

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate IT Intern to focus on development and security. This person should have a solid understanding of IT fundamentals, including endpoint management, systems administration, and cybersecurity. The intern will focus on automating routine tasks, developing simple applications to monitor current system performance, and assisting with security policy implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Help automate account creation/termination.
• Assist with automating the resource collection system for forecasting the Capital Budget.
• Develop an interface for visualization of assets.
• Assist with USB blocking, internet blocking, and Firewall policy implementation with Information Security Architect.
• Research and analyze current cyber-security threats and trends. Providing a weekly summary of cyber threats and helping provide steps to mitigate any viable threats to our computing environment.
• Collaborate with the team on DevOps or SRE tools and connecting APIs.

• Attend daily stand-ups with the team and a weekly 1:1 meeting with IT leadership.

  Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Ability to maintain confidentiality with secure information.
• Experience with C+ and Python a must.
• Passionate learner, scrappy, and can be flexible with shifting priorities.
• Ability to work within a team and maintain effective communication.
• Familiarity with Python or Bash is a plus.

Educational Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time academic program at an accredited college or university.
• Currently in their junior or senior year.
• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or related fields.

Working Conditions/Hours/Location
This role is an hourly position, and the intern will be required to work at least 10-20 hours per week during the spring. The start date and duration of the internship are flexible depending on availability, with a minimum commitment of 8 weeks.
The internship will take place onsite in Georgetown, TX

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.

The base pay is just one part of CelLink's total compensation package and is determined within a range. The pay range is designed to support your career progression as you learn, grow, and develop within your role. Your base pay range will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
