Your role & responsibilities
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and partnering with our (prospective) clients, guiding them in sourcing the essential, de-risked carbon removal portfolios to achieve their climate objectives. Your unique blend of approachability and effective drive will be instrumental in expanding our footprint across AMER. You will be part of an AMER BD and global commercial (i.e. Carbon Markets Team) team and collaborate closely with the product, and comms & marketing teams.
What you’ll do
- Develop and Execute B2B Outbound Campaigns: Design and lead outbound sales strategies to secure long-term purchase agreements and spot sales.
- Negotiation and Contract: Conclude long-term offtake agreement drawing from in-house and external legal counsel.
- Partnership Building: Define and nurture ecosystem partnerships conducive to channel sales and business development.
- Expand (Y)our Network: Form meaningful connections with key ecosystem players, building a robust network that accelerates Carbonfuture's market presence and influence.
- Collaborate on Proposals and Demand Forecasting: Partner closely with the Supply Team to create compelling sales proposals and accurately forecast demand for carbon removal credits.
- Streamline Sales Tracking and Reporting: Track and communicate your progress in a streamlined, transparent way, minimizing the need for regular reporting meetings.
- Champion Client Insights: Understand and capture client needs, pain points, and goals, providing feedback to the product team to strengthen our offerings.
- Represent Carbonfuture: Be the trusted face and voice of Carbonfuture at conferences, on podcasts, in working groups, and associations, showcasing our mission and values
Stay Ahead as the Industry Evolves: As the carbon removal landscape advances, continuously develop your expertise to offer high-value, future-proof solutions.
What you bring to the table
Required
- 5+ years of experience and proven track record in Business Development and B2B Sales with a focus on enterprise-level clients and including deal sizes in multi-million USD.
- Proficiency in negotiation, complemented by a keen commercial acumen and a deep understanding of effective contract management.
- Familiarity with climate change frameworks, prior experience and relevant network in the carbon removal or broader environmental sustainability market are a strong asset.
- Effective and captivating communicator, both in verbal and written communication.
- Interpersonal skills, characterized by effective listening and the ability to connect with people.
- Ability to travel, up to 20% of your time for business-related trips.
Preferred
- A creative and tenacious mindset with a strong bias for action
- Demonstrated expertise in building successful channel sales and partnerships
- Professional capability with Spanish or Portuguese language, written and spoken
